What is Onglyza?

Onglyza 2.5MG(saxagliptin) is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. It works by regulating the levels of insulin your body produces after eating.
Onglyza is for people with type 2 diabetes. It is sometimes used in combination with other diabetes medications, but is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

Uses of Onglyza 2.5mg

Onglyza 2.5MG Use  in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

General Instructions

Take Onglyza 2.5MG Tablet with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Warnings for special population

Pregnancy - Onglyza 2.5MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
Breast-feeding - This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. If the medicine is used, close monitoring of the infant for any undesired side effects is recommended.
General warnings
Use in children - This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
Thiazolidinediones - This medicine should be used with caution in patients receiving thiazolidinediones due to the increased risk of peripheral edema.

Storage of Onglyza 2.5mg

Onglyza 2.5MG Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
