Ziten 20 mg Tablet - Uses, Dosage, Side Effects

Description

Ziten 20Mg is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to a group of medicines called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors. It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas, which helps lower the blood glucose levels in the body.
Common side effects of Ziten 20Mg Tablet includes headache, hypoglycaemia in combination with insulin sulphonylurea, nausea, vomiting, nasopharyngitis, stomach pain and upper respiratory tract infections. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems. If you experience severe joint pain or allergic reactions, stop taking the medicine and inform your doctor. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.

How Ziten Tablet works

Ziten 20Mg Tab is an anti-diabetic medication. It works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones that raise blood sugar levels. This reduces the fasting and postmeal sugar levels.

Dosage

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Warnings for special population

Pregnancy - Ziten 20Mg Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.
Breast-feeding - This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
General warnings
QT prolongation - This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of prolonged QT interval due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
